Take food and more importantly, water (don’t forget their
dish – they don’t drink easily out of a bottle).
Give your pet frequent breaks to ride along in the vehicle,
particularly in hot weather and after running hills.
Your pet should be people-friendly since it will be
interacting with other folks (everyone loves to stop by
and give a petting and you do not want someone to be
bitten).
Your pet should be one that obeys commands and will
not roam too far away from you. Sam responds quickly
when Kenny calls him back to his side, as an example.
Always be aware of where your friend is at all times. He/
she should never interfere with others while they are
maneuvering over an obstacle.

“Sam is like he is saying come on, let’s go, get through this”,
Kenny says.
Sam and Kenny are a hit wherever they go.

So, the next time you see Kenny on the trails, stop by to give
him a scratch behind the ear and say hello (well, to Sam too of
